I have a Clio 182 track car, the car is driven on the road to and from tracks but not much more, I am considering a new race battery. The common one seems to be Odyssey Extreme Racing 25 Battery. I am a little worried about getting one of these as my car still has electric windows, heater A/C radio and alarm. I always keep the car on a battery maintainer when not in use, but would this battery be good enough to run the electrics on my car throughout a day.
The Odyssey range of batteries are not designed for road-going vehicles as they must never be left discharged or have constant low current drain such as an alarm. free. I noticed you mentioned that you keep the battery on charge when the car is not being used and this is extremely important for the Odyssey range. The battery MUST be on charge when the car is not being used after a track day or Sunday blast. I would advise heavily to invest in one of our intelligent Numax chargers or the Ctek ones are good also. These can be left on, charging the battery forever. I would suggest perhaps using the 'Odyssey 30' size battery as the Odyssey 25 is probably a bit borderline and the 30 will just provide you with a bit more power and endurance.
