Hi There, I have a classic Mini, pre A+, could you tell me if Mocal thermostatic Sandwich Plate this will fit the spin-on oil filter housing?
If you currently have a spin on filter then the Mocal Sandwich Plate M-OTSP -1 is suitable. If you have an early A Series engine where the current filter has a long bolt which goes through the middle of the steel filter can then the M-OTSP-1 you were looking at will not fit. On the earlier A Series engines it is cheaper to use unions to replace the external copper pipe. The unions to fit a Mocal or Setrab cooler with 1/2BSP unions to this type of block are M-4NPT-8BSP and M-10UNF-8BSP.
